Advisory Council
The Ohio Valley Center uses the resources of an Advisory
Council to provide oversite, direction and input into Center activities.
The Advisory Council currently meets semi-annually in Columbus, Ohio.
The Advisory Council was formed in 1992 as a part of the original grant
through the Rehabilitation Services Administration of the U.S. Department
of Education. The Council is composed of 32 representatives drawn from
each of the four states of the original OVC grant (Indiana, Ohio, Virginia
and West Virginia). Representation includes presons with brain injury,
family members and caregivers, representatives of state brain injury associations,
representatives of state government departments responsible for services,
and advocates. Sixty percent of the membership are primary and secondary
consumers.
