Traumatic Brain Injury: Incidence, Prevalence and Consequences

Purpose: This is an online course for healthcare providers on the incidence, prevalence, and consequences of traumatic brain injury. It provides a basic foundation from which healthcare providers can draw to improve their ability to better serve patients with traumatic brain injury. It will also provide information useful for educating patients about behaviors which can increase the risk for brain injury, thus adding an additional tool to their prevention efforts.

Description: The learner will view a series of slides (30) with accompanying text, read a manuscript prepared by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, complete a 12 item post-test, and complete a program evaluation form. Each of these documents are available online and can be downloaded from this website. The post-test and evaluation form can be returned by email or regular mail.
